Bio

Artist, bodypainter.

Thanks for taking the time to check out my work. This page is dedicated to my bodypainting art, where I turn a person into a living canvas.

Originally from Rhode Island, I moved to San Diego California where I attended college. While there I interned with various production companies in special effects, and theatrical makeup.  Around this time I also picked up my first air-brush, painting T-shirts at the beach and in Balboa park.

After moving to Portland, OR, in 2004, I started managing the makeup department for a production company / non-profit that focused on events surrounding Halloween.  By 2005 I started doing full body theatrical makeup for the event, and giving workshops on Special FX and airbrush. In late 2006 I started moving away from the gore effects, and focused my work onto full body painting, and by 2009 I had moved my focus from "scary" makeup, to the photo ready bodypainting.

For my paintings / shoots, I plan out a design and color scheme, and when possible work with the model or photographer on a design that will work best with the model, photographer, lighting, and location.

I only work with cosmetic and SFX grade / safe products, and will never use arts & craft paint (such as acrylic), or harmful products on the skin. Using mostly water-based products for photo shoots and events, there are times I'm asked to get an effect, such as underwater shoots or performances where the actor or dancer is moving or sweating, this is  where I need to use alcohol-based makeup (sometimes refereed to as "temporary tattoo ink").

I can be found on Model Mayhem, and you can "like" me on Facebook
